How to activate sections

i installed the tutor package and everything was great at first. as soon i updated the logo the page (which was identical to the demo) became empty. under theme options i can see the sections but they simply dont show up on the home page! hpw can i get them to work? copying the section html text and putting it in the page the normal way a page is created does not recreate the same results. no background and strange formatting
